Several years ago one of my employees at Town & County
Electric Maui Inc. health was falling and I thought I’d do something to lift
his spirits and provide some sort of guiding light so as we were on a job site
I noticed there was enough materials from my truck to provide something unique
to do just the trick . Using all U.L. listed materials I created a light with
junction boxes, conduit and fittings along with a 120 volt outlet with USB
ports, a 15 amp single pole switch with a LED light and a15 amp rated power
cord . I had some photographs in my office of that employee on various job
sites that I glued onto flat portions of the light .
Suddenly I had a light
that not only the employee could plug in his battery charger for his tools but
had USB ports to not only change his
phone and use his computer but shine a light on the photographs and surrounding
work area . This was the birth of the Legacy Light .
Since this time
others ask if I could produce lights for a variety of sports, music legends and
many other types of lights that could be personalized to whatever needs anyone
my want .
This has become a
unique blend of metal art with functionality. The usage is literally endless .
Space lights have been made for the likes of Richard Branson , musical themes
for music legends Steven Tyler, Mick Fleetwood, John Cruze , Willie K ,
Gretchen Rhodes, Michael McDonald , Stevie Nicks , Pat Simmons and several more.
Drag racing legend , Jack Beckman. Surfing legends: Kai Lenny, Hans Hedemann,
Buzzy Kerbox and Pete Topoleski . Hall of fame Catcher for the Cincinnati Reds
, Johnny Bench . Several other tribute lights of Kobe Bryant, Pat Mahomes , Ben
Rothlesburger , Russel Wilson and more .
All my lights are
hand made by me : Mick Mehlmauer in Kula Maui and all lights are ( one of a
kind )and numbered with the build date inside .
I have recently been
making these Robot lights for abused kids to shine a light forever more on this
horrible situation. Just trying to do my part to provide a guiding light for
the rehabilitation of these kids .
Whatever you want to
shine a light on , I most likely can make it become reality .
Tyson Sacks is a manager at Lowe’s in Hawaii. Mick introduced Tyson to his Legacy Lights and he was deeply touched by the project. He has been a huge part in the process of these lights coming to fruition. “Every piece of equipment I use for my Legacy Lights comes from Lowes” said Mick. Tyson has been instrumental in the process of producing these lights. Mick helps out within the store and in return Tyson helps supply equipment for his projects. Tyson is a very caring individual and often fills a need when he sees one. Not only with Mick but with every single customer that walks in his doors. Starting with Tysons store Mick’s new product, “ The Clamshell” electrical box will be displayed and sold. The box will also be sold in every Lowes acrossed Hawaii. “ Tyson is a great friend and above all he has made this possible” said Mick. Tyson was presented with his very own light to show appreciation and thanks for all he has done and continues to do. Featured on his light is pictures of the store and interactions Tyson has within it.
